Committed Leaders who are Active, Sincere & Service Oriented Individuals to the Community
The Las Piñas Classic Lions Club was chartered on June
20, 2006 with 22 members sponsored by Paranaque City
Lions Club. The club was initially organized as a branch
of Paranaque City Lions club for the purpose of providing
educational materials to student inmates of New Bilibid
Prisons and school children in the depressed areas of
Las Piñas City. It later expanded its projects to help
families living in garbage dump site in Bacoor-Las Piñas
boundary where we provided personal hygiene and food.
The branch club members were inspired to help more
people thus inviting friends and kins to form a new club.
During the months of April and May 2006, a series of
Orientation and Information Meeting was held to
prospective new members of the charter club. On March
28,2006 we formally submitted our application for a
charter club through our sponsor, the Paranaque City
Lions Club. Election of Officers was conducted thereafter
to immediately plan for the upcoming Charter Night
Presentation and Club Projects. Our Charter President
elect was Dr. Richard T. Dela Rosa, who used to be the
coordinator in the branch club.

To further strengthen our relationship as one Lions family, we
have conducted a team building activity led by our Charter 1st
Vice-President Ruel Saniel last August 2006. We are intensifying
our recruitment of new members under the leadership of our
membership director, Lion Arnold Torres with the able support of
our charter secretary Lion Luis Mejia.
We can proudly say that prior to our charter approval, the
members of the Las Piñas Classic Lions Club has been serving
our community through the following projects: Operation
Circumcision, our maiden project where we provided medicines
as well as free surgical service in cooperation with the
Muntinlupa and Las Piñas Medical Society, more than 200
teenager boys benefited from this project; Book Donation project
to the 100 Student Inmates of New Bilibid Prisons and many
more.
For one reason, the members are motivated by the club slogan: ”
Committed Leaders who are Active, Sincere and Service-
oriented Individuals in the Community”
Clearly our history shows that we live up to the Lions Motto
--- WE SERVE!

October 31, 2006. Wheelchair Donation Project.
Recipient: Mrs Josefa Soberano 49 years old, from Las Pinas
-Bacoor garbage dumpsite.
Disability: Both legs amputee since 2003.
Background: Prior 2003, she was self employed as hilot
(chiropractor) of the community. She raised her family by helping
others rendering chiropractic services. Unfortunately, after getting
bruised which wounds never healed she learned that she was
suffering from diabetes that ultimately needs both legs to be
amputated. Since then, she had difficulty moving around to earning
a living.
The Las Pinas Classic Lions Club gave her another opportunity to
be a useful member of the community, back to normal work
though restricted in her ability to move around, live independently
and contribute to the family's daily needs.
She is very grateful to the members of the club for this wonderful
early Christmas gift-- "a memory she will forever cherish."
